💬 Buzzbot — Conversational Interface UX

Buzzbot — Conversational Interface UX for System Clarity
Role: Interaction & Interface Design
Scope: Conversational flow · System feedback · Onboarding clarity
Project Overview
Buzzbot is a chatbot-based interface project where I contributed to improving conversational clarity and system feedback as part of a collaborative team.
Rather than working on core system logic, my role focused on refining how users understand system responses, available actions, and conversational state through interface and interaction design.
Problem Context
Conversational interfaces can quickly become confusing when conversation structure, system feedback, or available actions are unclear.
When users cannot tell how the system is responding—or what they can do next—trust and usability break down. This is especially critical in chat-based systems, where users rely almost entirely on system responses to guide interaction.
Users need clear conversational structure and predictable feedback to understand system behavior.
Design Goal
The goal was to improve usability by making system behavior transparent and conversational flows easier to follow.
The focus was on helping users understand:
What the system is doing
What actions are available
What state the conversation is currently in
Interaction & Interface Strategy
My contributions focused on the following areas:
Improving visual hierarchy within chat interfaces to distinguish system messages, user input, and actionable elements
Clarifying system feedback states so users can interpret responses and outcomes
Supporting consistency across screens to reduce confusion during transitions
Reducing friction in onboarding and login flows to help users enter the conversation smoothly
These changes were designed to make interactions feel predictable and easier to navigate.
Interface Designs & Prototypes
UI screens were designed collaboratively and integrated into the final product.

The interface emphasizes:
Clear feedback after user actions
Consistent conversational patterns
Visual cues that support interpretation of system responses
Together, these elements improve clarity and reduce uncertainty during interaction.
Design Impact & Takeaways
This project highlights the importance of clear structure and feedback in conversational systems, where users depend on system responses to guide their actions.
It reinforced how small interface and interaction design decisions—such as hierarchy, consistency, and feedback—can significantly improve usability and user confidence in chat-based products.
